Last month I had a conversation with a service provider that was trying to justify charging for phone calls. His comment was "your business is different you don't provide a service just products". This got me to thinking (and biting my tongue) about the difference between products and services. The dictionary defines service as "something that helps people or supplies what they want".
If you are dealing with people and supplying any sort of product then of course you also provide a service. You can't separate a product business from a service business as both industries need to provide service.
