This change in seasons got me thinking about the seasons in our lives. We all go through times that feel dark and cold. They feel like they'll never end.....and then they do. At these times it's good to remember "that this too will pass"
Have you seen the plants that lay dormant in winter and then burst into life when spring arrives. From the surface it looked like nothing was happening. But deep down where it matters change is happening. It seems like overnight it all changes. The flowers have bloomed, the bees are buzzing, the birds are singing and the beautiful spring smells fill our garden.
Our lives are like seasons. There is so much change, good and bad. What seems like a lifetime in the grand scheme of things is just a blink. I remember when my first daughter was born. The joy of new life was mixed with the pain of sleepless nights and worry. Seems like just yesterday, she is now 13.
Journalling a great comfort when times are tough and when times are great. Putting your thoughts, your fears, your challenges on paper is like sharing them with a best friend. For me its like writing a letter to God and brings me a lot of comfort. Great times to journal are:
- New baby/pregnancy
- When someone dies
- If cancer or a chronic illness is diagnosed
- Holidays
- New home. new job
- Marriage
Wrapped to You has some beautiful journals to write the worries away and to record your moments of delight. These include:
- Create
- Dream
- Hope- great for someone struggling with cancer
- Achieve
- Her life & His life
- my writing - a lovely journal for kids
I'll finish with a quote from a hope journal: "it gets dark sometimes, but morning comes. Don't you surrender! Keep hope alive." Jesse Jackson
